Hexagon of Highgate was established in 1963 by Paul Michaels, and for 46 years has remained one of Central London’s few independently owned dealerships. Forty two of which Hexagon of Highgate has been synonymous with BMW in North London, Central London and the City of London.

With motoring in his blood – Paul’s father owned the reputable Camden Motors Group – Paul took Hexagon of Highgate from a small mews garage in Hampstead (specialising in tuning and restoring cars) to a large BMW dealership in Highgate in the late sixties. At this time Hexagon of Highgate took on the BMW franchise (amongst many other marques), and continued to follow the company ethic of “quality cars for the car enthusiast”.

In the early seventies Hexagon increased its commitment to older, classic cars by opening a new classic car restoration department at Highgate, and with the dealership’s continued success in Central London and the City of London, eventually expanded into even larger premises in London’s West End. At this time the dealership also established “Hexagon Racing”, racing D-Type Jaguars and taking part in Formula 5000, before finally moving into Formula One.

Due to a change in the economic climate and drop in oil prices in 1975, Hexagon of Highgate decided to withdraw from the race track and other car marques, and invest all of its efforts in the BMW franchise.

By the mid 1980s, the BMW franchise was so successful that Hexagon of Highgate made a large investment into a new Aftersales, Service and Parts Centre in Kentish Town, which is still today one of the UK’s largest Aftersales facilities. The BMW New Car showroom, together with the BMW Approved Used Car showroom, also moved from Highgate to new premises on the Great North Road in East Finchley, just down the road from St John's Wood, located adjacent to one of London’s most sought-after areas in the Borough of Barnet, the Bishops Avenue.

Thanks to its BMW knowledge, and 42 years of BMW experience, Hexagon of Highgate is proud to have a longstanding relationship with many of its customers in East Finchley, and the surrounding areas of Muswell Hill and St John’s Wood.
